King Landesman

I am a 21 year old from Downtown New york City. I went to four different high schools in three states. Two public schools in the city, and two boarding schools. After high school I took some time off to start a clothing brand. During my time in the city, I spent most of my time designing cloths, hanging out with friends, and the occasional odd job here and there. This past year I moved out of my house and rented out an apartment with a longtime friend. The experience was very helpful in preparing me for the real world. It gave me the chance to fully support myself and have to take care of a household with a roommate. Living with a friend having an apartment to ourselves created a college type experience. A lot of drinking, partying, and police as the RA's. It taught us how to be responsible with such a recourse.


This past summer I was lucky enough to get a job babysitting a family friends child. Her name is Galya and she's three years old. Babysitting Galya was special because I was able to see her grow and help teach her english. Seeing a young child evolve is really interesting and touching when the person your seeing grow is like a little sister to you. The experience really changed my outlook on kids.

My main interests include music and fashion, and art. In regard to music I like oldies, blues, jazz, some rock, some pop, hiphop, and r&b. In regard to fashion the main brands I purchase are, Ralph Lauren Polo and Rugby, Gant, Alife, Brooks Brothers, Supreme, G-Star Raw, and Nudies to name a few. Me and everyone in my neighborhood are very fashion conscious. We as well are into art. We spend a lot of time at art galleries and events. Living in downtown manhattan gives us the chance to go to an art opening, live show, and get some shopping done within a couple blocks.

Hey guys! As the title suggests, my name is Casey Frank and I am a freshman here at Nichols. I've moved around my whole life and as a result I have attended 11 different schools (before college) across 4 U.S. states and one province in Australia. I have two sisters, one older and one younger, whom I love dearly. My parents, my sisters and I are all very close and we're more like a big group of goofy friends than anything else.
 



I have many pass-times and hobbies that include spaztically dancing in my kitchen while cooking something undoubtedly delicious, epic-failing at playing my electric guitar, knife throwing (tons of fun), shooting my air pistol (also very very fun) singing, and taking many many photos as I am very much into photography and editing my photos. By the end of this blog it should be obvious because I will have posted many pictures... :P
 
As I alluded to above, I lived in Australia for just over a year. My dad accepted this once-on-a-lifetime opportunity and I am SO glad he did. Living in a foreign country was so eye-opening to me and it sparked my already 'gasoline-soaked' desire to travel. I love foreign culture. I love foreign languages and foods and I love to learn about the different ways people live their lives around the world. Many people ask me if I liked it in Australia and I always tell them that I absolutely loved it there and that I would recommend it as a travel destination to anyone.

I am a photographer at heart and I love to take pictures and then edit them. Often times I take pictures of myself in an attempt to be artistic and express myself differently than I might usually (example: bottom left picture and bottom right picture in the collage pictured to your left).
 
 
 




I also love to take portraits and candids of other people. I love nature shots as well and tend to gravitate towards trees and plants as well as landscaped as my subjects. I am also very very partial to macro photography. I love getting up close to things and capturing the intricate details of a flower or raindrops on overlapping blades of grass.

In accordance to my love of photography and all things foreign, the blog I chose is an international art, design and photography blog by Jeannie Huang. The two subjects in particular that stood out to me were the Levitating Girl photography post and the Underwater Ink Plumes and Alice in Wonderland Photography posts. I love both mid-air and underwater shots so these particularly interested me and I figured I would share because the photos are so unique and beautiful. :)

Hi my name is Jordi van Gaal, I was born on december 25/1992. I live in Belgium and my hometown is Bonheiden. Currently i am attending Nichols College as a freshmen. I live in Shamie hall room 340, at the moment my roommate moved out, so i got the room to myself what is actually pretty awesome. Every day i have 8am classes what kind of sucks because i like to sleep in till 9 or 10 am. But if you look at it from the positive side I'm always done before the afternoon. what helps me allot because than i have time to do my homework all afternoon. My major is international business. Here at Nichols College i got recruited to play for the ice hockey team. I started to play hockey since i was 3 years, ever since than i fell in love with the game and i still am. It is a time to escape from the world and not have to worry about anything else. But its not only that the passion us hockey players have for the game is greater than any other athletes have for their sport. An example would be the NHL playoffs thats the moment you can tell how much hockey players love to play the game. While growing up my idol was Martin Brodeur but when i grew older i started to love Jonathan Quick style and so he became my new idol.

My hobbies are snowboarding and driving quads.
I enjoy these two hobbies because they both involve speediness. Not only that but the adrenaline kick i get during it is always fun for me. what makes me never want to stop doing these two hobbies.

I hope this ITM course will teach me how to work professionally with media. I want to bring professional presentations to class and work. So that people will be impressed with the skill i can provide for companies and myself.

This article is about the NHL lockout, the reason why it interests me is because since i grew up with hockey. Hockey isn't just a sport for me its a lifestyle. Other hockey players understand why hockey means so much to us. I cant imagine a year without NHL hockey. I believe if the lockout will happen and it will mess with the balance of earth. Dino Porcic

My name is Dino Porcic and I am a freshman at Nichols College.My major is International Business but I am unsure as if that's what I will stick with.   I am from Serbia but i currently live in Putnam,CT.  I currently work at Leoni's Pizza in Dudley which has the best pizza in town so make sure you order from us and leave me a great tip.   I got recruited to play basketball here at Nichols my senior year so I'm looking forward to the season and winning multiple championships. I went to Putnam High School for 3 years and i went to a prep school my sophomore year because i got a scholarship for basketball.  It was an all guys school which is the reason I left after one year.  I also played soccer all 4 years in high school. So I am all about sports.  My favorite team is and always will be the Boston Celtics.  In my spare time I like to do karate in the garage and build bunk beds .

 






This semester in this class I wish to further my skills in computers and all the programs it has to offer.  I took a few computer classes in high school so i have a good general idea of whats going on.


The blog that I picked is about Jason Terry a Boston Celtics player who gets a tattoo of the team logo with a championship.  Basically a couple of years before he did the same thing but with his former team Dallas and they won the championship that year.  So before the season even started he is implying that the Celtics will win it all this year.  The blog is credible because there are many other blogs of the Celtics and it comes from ESPN.  This blog interest me because first off its my favorite team so anything about the Celtics interests me and second off i like the fact that he is confident about the teams chances.

Jameil Ali's 1st blog

Hey! My name is Jameil Ali I'm from all over the place. I was born in Brooklyn New York, raised in Trinidad and Tobago, then after 6 years I came back to America and lived in Hartford, CT and then Bloomfield, CT. I worked at Renbrook Summer Adventure which is a day summer camp in West Hartford, CT as a 2nd and 3rd grade counselor for six years. I love working with little kids, they keep you alert and on your toes at all times. And also when you think you teaching them, sometimes they teach you new things as well. I feel that if you can work with fifteen 9 year olds hyped up on cookies and lemonade, then you can do anything. I'm also a freshman at Nichols College studying to become an Accounting Major, in the future I am planning to be an Investment Banker. In my free time I like to stay active. I need to always be moving playing sports, like pick up basketball games, catch with a football, racing, biking, soccer you name it. I love chilling with friends and doing stuff with them. Hanging out with family. Cookouts, parties, water boarding, tubing, quading, water skiing, speed boating. I'm a really active person. Something I hope to gain is a better feel for a computer so that it becomes second nature to me.

For my blog I choose a New York Giants Fan Page it goes over games and how the players played, interviews on the players. Schedule of their future games and roster and photos of the players as well. Ever since I was a little kid I've always loved the Giants. At my house when the Giants play its like a national holiday were we cook a lot of food and throw a little party.

My name is Billy O'Keefe. My hometown is Trumbull, CT.  I am a freshman at Nichols College. This past summer I worked at the Beardsley Zoo in Bridgeport CT. NO I'm not a zoo keeper... I wish I could have been, but I was only a grounds man. Luckily my last day of work I was able to feed a monkey. That experience was one I will not forget. I love the game of football. I am on the team and playing special teams. Football to me is something that is exciting and fun to play. I am majoring in accounting, but as I learn about business I might want to switch to business management.

I plan on getting better at using a computer by the end of this course. Especially using excel because I believe that I would use it throughout my business career. Also I believe I can get time management out of this course. The last thing I want to get out of this course is the ability to be on time and miss no classes to get the 2 points.

SPB’s bog about Connecticut football is a creditable source because he talks about the previous games and how the teams did or how they can improve. In this blog you can get up to date scores. He talks about who is predicted to do well and who isn’t. He also predicts who will make it to the county’s final game and who will win states. This interests me because it’s about football. Football is something I love to watch, play or even listen too. Ever since I was a freshman I would check this blog to see home me town would do and to see how we can do in upcoming games. The most I paid attention to the blog was my junior year because we did badly my sophomore year. And when a team does bad they are predicted to do bad the season after. Well of course we were barely mentioned in the blog until our 4^th game when we were out scoring teams by unbelievable amounts. We were predicted to go undefeated from that point on. Well as my old coach would say, “we have to get ourselves back on the map” what he meant was we were a nobody until we proved we were a competitor with the other teams.

I'm Sam Gandolfo and I'm from Charlestown, Massachusetts which is in Boston.  I used to work as a Staff Member at the Charlestown Boys and Girls Club for about two years, and as a Receptionist at St.Francis Deseals of Charlestown for two as well.  My hobbies are playing lacrosse, and spending time with family and/or friends.  I am currently a Student at Nichols College for my freshman year and my major is undecided.  I've thought about being an event planner or a lawyer.   This year I plan playing for the womans lacrosse team in the fall and winter season. One of the main things that I want to gain from this class would be able to efficiently work with computers.  I believe it will give me tools that will overall help me for future opportunities for an internship or job.

    The blog that I find most interesting/entertaining is ESPN sports website which includes the scheduled game times for your favorite team or league.  Also you can get tickets to the games or sporting events, etc.  This site talks about various sports teams. and different topics concerning the teams and offers games. I chose this blog because I am a fan of all Boston sports team.  Such as the Bruins, Red Sox, Patriots, and Celtics.  It is a credible blog because it is continuously updated,has the most upcoming information from and there isn't too much advertisement. This website is constantly updating leading headlines. The website also offers games, video clips, live radio, and so much more.  There is a great selection of video clips including interviews of players and coaches, and top scoring plays.  Fantasy Football is one of the more popular options on this site.  It allows you to make your own draft, and managing it to win points or other prizes. Since Fantasy Football is popular I noticed that is a general topic for conversation. Thats why people can now conveniently connect to social media such as Facebook and shares links, results, or comments.  This is a little bit about me and why I chose the link that I did.

My name is Joe Munsey, and I am student here at Nichols College, in Dudley Massachusetts.  I play tennis for the school and am a major in Psychology.  I am from Arlington Massachusetts, just about an hour east of Dudley.  I went to Minuteman high school in lexington, which was a technical school.  I studied electrical wiring and am working towards becoming a journeyman electrician.  In high school I was a three sport athlete, I was a strange combination of football, wrestling, and tennis.  Football and tennis may go together, but it was the tennis that tended to throw people off.  I came to Nichols for two main reasons.  One was to play tennis, and the other reason was to study criminal justice.  My dream in life was always one thing, be a United States Marine.  When I was 11, I was diagnosed with epilepsy after I had an unexplained Gran Mal seizure.  Being diagnosed with epilepsy cut my dream of becoming a Marine short.  I figured being on the police force would be the next best thing if I couldn't serve my country the way I wanted to.  However, when I arrived here and started taking a few psychology classes I found it very interesting.  I decided that I was going to change majors to psychology because I already think I have a very good sense in this topic.  Many people have told me that I am one of the best people to talk to when they need advice, when they need motivation, or when they just need help getting through anything.  I have also been told that I am very good at reading people.  Even if I have only known somebody for five minutes I can determine their outlook on life, what upsets them, and what mood they are currently in and why.  I believe all of these factors say a lot about me and that psychology would really be the best thing I can do.

       My name is Andrelis Cristancho and I am 17 years old. I am from Caracas-Venezuela and my first language is Spanish. I did my junior and my senior year in IMG Academies in Bradenton, Fl. I am a freshmen majoring in Clinical Psychology. My favorite hobbies are playing soccer, going shopping, yoga, creating beats; specially dubstep genre, traveling, painting, and experiencing new things in life. I love learning new things in life.

        

 I hope this course will prepare me as a student to use a variety of hardware and software to develop technology-based communication skills needed for personal and professional activities, as it is describe in the Digital Application syllabus. Also I would like to learn more about programs such as excel, power point, editing photos, searching the web in a faster way etc.     



 


The blog I chose is called Tumblr. Tumblr is a social networking website, that is owned by Tumblr, Inc. This website allows users to share with the world any content they would like to post. Tumblr allow users to choose if they want their blog to be public or private. Users can post any type of information they want to share, such as; pictures, videos, essays, etc.      Tumblr is a very credible website because most of the times you know the person who is posting and most of the posts are very credible, since this website is more about sharing people’s personal thoughts rather than just posting real news, in other words; there is never a wrong answer for any post if you just share your opinion and let people stay with there’s. Actually there are tumblr websites that post things about one specific topic; such as; art, fashion, music, specific brands, tattoos, or any other topic that the person is interested in. I have being a tumblr user for almost 3 years and I love it. It interests me because I am really into fashion, music, and art, so I like reading what other people know about it. Also, there are users that share the latest fashions trends, others that share paintings about my favorite artists, and you can follow just about any user that feel good with sharing his/her opinions with anyone. There are millions of users that are willing to share their artwork or their own music and I think that is very cool.

Hi my name is Alex Geas and I'm from Somers Ct.  I am a freshman here at Nichols college and i play on the soccer team.  My intended major as of now is financing.  Some previous jobs i have held are working construction and raising livestock on my ranch  I am from a very small farm town with a lot of cows.  I love how peaceful my town is.  I hope to gain more knowledge of computers and working with things like blogs and other social networking sites.   One blog i found that was very interesting was http://www.interestingblogs.org/blog-crawler?bci=269739&url=http://www.futurelab.net/blogs/marketing-strategy-innovation/2012/08/niche_our_own_industry.html.  This blog talks about whether technology affects people or if it's just our access to them.  Also it talks about the digitization of communication.  This blog is credible because she is a very credible author that is submitting to a organization site.  Also this article interests me because i enjoy observing the rapid pace at which technology is improving and how it affects communication. 

 Here at Nichols my friends and i live the Chay life.  In this style of life we live with peace in our hearts.  Nothing is considered too serious and nothing is worth getting all stressed over.  In the Chay life we all spend our day relaxing and stress-free.  Sometimes we will go on a nice drive in the car to relax.  A good synonym for "Chay" is "Shanti" which means deep inner peace.  Here is the universal sign for Chay...

Chay is a revolution we're spreading across the nation.  Its about to spread like a wildfire all the way to California.  Everyday we live with no stress which also involves playing soccer and watching sweet movies.  And once again when we are presented with a situation that involves any stress, it is all relieved after going to a peaceful spot in our car.  Here is a prime example of one of our chay spots...

Once entering into full time Chay there is no turning back.  It is a lifetime venture.

Hey my name is Billy Thompson and i go to Nichols college  .  I play College football and am proud to be a bison.  I play free safety.  I am from holden mass. i am 18 years old and i was born in october of 1993.  I went to saint peter marian high school.  I am in this digital itm class because I am not good with computers.  I want to be able to do a lot with my computer and use it to its full potential.  I want to be able to use my computer in the business world too so i can keep track of finances and be able to use it to trade stocks.   I am very big into football.  I like to watch it on tv and to play it at my college. I also like to play it on my x box against my brother.    I met all my friends through football and playing football together made us all really close friends.  even though we go to different schools well always be friends because we all played football together.  My friends and i train for football many hours of the day and miss a lot of things because of our dedication to the sport.  My favorite football team is the green bay Packers.  my favorite player is clay matthews.  I am a big fan of his work ethic both on and off the field and i am a huge fan of the way he plays the game of football.  i found this blog on clay matthews to be very interesting on The clay maker.      

         I have two little brothers one is 17 and the other is 14.  They both attend saint peter marian high school and one plays football.  My youngest brother Nick plays football and my other brother Elias plays baseball.  My brothers and i would play sports in the back yard all time when we were young.  We would always host the neighborhood football game.   

Alyssa Plouff

My name is Alyssa Plouff, however everyone calls me Alie. I am a freshman at Nichols College. I am from Cumberland, Rhode Island, about an hour from school. My major is currently general Business, however I will probably change it to something more specific. Lacrosse is my favorite sport, which is why I can't wait to play at Nichols. Of course, I also love music. Dave Mathews Band is one of my favorites and the release of his new album was very exciting. Another hobby of mine is shopping, which is why I worked in retail for a short period time. I worked at Polo Ralph Lauren at the Wrentham Outlets in a town near mine. I quit that job though because working there was a nightmare and I hated it. Traveling is also something I enjoy doing. My favorite trip so far was Paris and Normandy in France. We saw various monuments and had dinner on top of the Eiffel Tower. Summer is by far my favorite season. This summer I went to the beach quite often and went to concerts. The concerts I attended were Dave Mathews, Rascal Flatts, Jimmy Buffet, Wiz Khalifa, Mac Miller, and Country Fest. My favorite concert was Country Fest because the artists; Kenny Chesney, Tim McGraw and Jake Owen are all favorites of mine. 

From this course I would like to become more tech-savvy, considering everything seems to be technology based. I would also like to become better at using excel and creating web pages, just in case I open a business of my own in the future.

A blog that interest me is a one that discusses traveling throughout the nation. Despite the weird blog name, "Peanut Butter Fingers" it was very knowledgeable about all different types of travel. It is a very interesting website because it also had various other categories of blogs like recipes and fashion. This type of blog can attract all types of people because it has all different categories and each one has an abundance of information and stories. The blog’s writer, Julie is only 27. Her young age makes it more attractive for the young adult crowd because it is about topics that are relatable to people my age and older.

Jessica Dobbins

I am Jessica Dobbins and I'm from St. James, New York. I am a freshman at Nichols College and will be majoring in Human Resources and minoring in Psychology. I got this idea from a club in my high school where I competed for a competition in the field of Human Resources. I come from a very close family, where my older sister's Danielle and Christina are my best friends. I don't know what I would do without them, they are like a second mother to me. My family and my friends mean the world to me and they will always come first. 


 For the past year I have been working at Sertinos Café in my hometown. I did many roles I was a cashier, sandwich maker and a barista. I was promoted to a Team Leader which is an assistant manager. I love working and get great joy out of it. I actually enjoyed going to work every day. The people I work with for the past year have become part of my family. In high school I was very involved in a club called DECA, I was an officer in this club for two years. I cannot begin to describe how much I have learned from this club. The things I learned I couldn't just learn in the classroom, its real life experiences that has made me who i am today. 
I hope to gain computer skills that I can use both in and out of the classroom. I am very good with computers but I never use everything that the computers have to offer. Now a day you can use the computer for pretty much anything. I hope the skills I learn in this class can help me with other classes. 

I love reading the style because it keeps me update on my favorite fashions and whats new and in. I love going shopping and I love having the newest clothes and this keeps me update. I like how it has pictures as well so I can actually see cute outfits and i want to buy it. 

I am Kassandra Rheaume, from Salem New Hampshire. I am a freshman here at Nichols and my major is Psychology. Since I was a junior in highschool, I have been working at a cupcake shop called Who you callin' cupcake? My coworkers and boss became a family to me for the year I got the pleasure to work with them. I was a dishwasher and cashier, and was involved in many other aspects of the business. I loved interacting with the customers and having regulars that I already knew their order. In highschool i wasnt a big sports player, but I did get the chance to be one of two football managers for my varsity high school team. I was " water girl " but the team and I got so close over the season and I loved every minute of it. After that ended I didnt do much of anything with my school because I worked and babysat all week long.
When I found Nichols College, I was so excited to start my journey and have a new experience. I found roommates pretty quick, one from my hometown and one from Mass. I have been so happy so far with my roommate choices and we have all gotten along great.My classes so far have been exactly how I pictured and make me even happier with my choice to go to Nichols.
This year, I hope to grow up and become more of the person im suppose to be. I hope my classes help me do that too. Im hoping that my Digital Applications class can teach me more about computers and technology because it seems as though its becoming a way of life, communicating mainly through computers and cellphones.
On my search to find an interesting blog , I found one that intrigued me because of fashion. Being a typical girl I loved anything like clothing, accessories and things like that. I’m Joseph Fowkes and my past work experience was at a beach, which I still currently work at in the summer. In the summer, I work in York Beach, Maine at Bob’s Float Stand renting out rafts, umbrellas, and chairs. I work about three to four days a week. I have been working there since six grade. I’m a freshman at Nichols College in Dudley, Massachusetts.  My major is Criminal Justice, I chose Criminal Justice because I either want to be a police officer or a private investigator. My hobbies are playing hockey, hanging out with friends after school, going the beach, traveling, having bonfires in the summer, and driving around. I also like to go to Boston and big cities.

I hope to gain more information on Digital Applications. By the end of the semester I want to have the knowledge to be able to help another person with their paper in this course regardless of what school they go to.  I also hope that I will gain the experience to be able to do a blog without needing help. I want to learn more about Microsoft Word and how to use certain things within it. I also want to learn more about Excel then I already know. I want to learn how to fix technology when it breaks down, for example if a computer freezes I want to know to fix it on the spot.

My blog that I read is about James Holmes. It says James is a twenty four year old man who killed twelve people and injured fifty-eight people in a movie theater out in Colorado. The Police have said that Holmes began buying guns at Denver-area stores nearly two months before Friday's shooting and that he received at least 50 packages in four months at his home and at school. This is according to NBC New York. Officials at the University of Colorado Anschutz Medical Campus were looking into whether Holmes used his position in a graduate program to collect hazardous materials. The school officials never said whether they knew he was up to anything suspicious. All they knew is that James Holmes was a hard-working student at there university. This blog interest me because of the reason that no gun company’s or police stations question what he was doing with all the guns he received.

Chelsey Mahoney

Hi my name is Chelsey Mahoney, and I’m a freshman here at Nichols. I’m from a small town called Dracut just about a half hour outside Boston. I’m planning on majoring in sports management, and a minor in event planning. My dream job would be, to be an event planner for a professional sports team. Sports are defiantly my thing; I basically played soccer and basketball my whole life. I originally came here to play basketball, but watching the Women Soccer USA team take the gold at the London Olympics defiantly made me realize I’m going to miss playing soccer way too much.  I asked the soccer coach to play this year, and he was more than welcoming to have me on the team.  Playing two sports in college is going to be a challenge no doubt, but it’s all about balancing school work, sports, and my social life. Outside of school and sports, I absolutely love country music. I tell everyone I’m a southern girl at heart, and that I was meant to live in Nashville. Taylor Swift and Kenny Chesney are my favorite; I could listen to their music every day without getting sick of it. Here is a picture of my sister and I at the Brothers of the Sun tour this summer.

This was my second Kenny Chesney concert, at Gillette Stadium, in Foxboro MA, and it was even better than last one. The concert was not only special to me, but to Kenny and Tim McGraw as well seeing it was the closing concert to their tour. Tim McGraw’s wife Faith Hill came out, and they sang a duet together, it was adorable. My name is Kristen. I'm a freshman and grew up in Mansfield, Ma. I come from a very big and close family, and I'm the middle of 5 children. My whole life I've been involved with dance and in high school I was on the dance team, and also participated in the the SADD club, and Project Teammate. I also spent time volunteering at the preschool in which my older sister teaches at. After graduating high school in June, I had a very eventful summer. I worked my part time job at D'Angelo, babysat every day and still managed to spend lots of time with my friends. I enjoy to going the beach, to concerts and going for runs with my dog every now and again. Now that I'm at school, I'm majoring in accounting and I'm living in Shamie Hall with my roommates, Dana and Jen.

Throughout the course I am hoping to learn more about social media. Today, the only social media sites I have knowledge of are Facebook and Twitter, and it would be nice to find some new sources to convey my thoughts. Also from this class I would like to improve my skills with different types of computer programs that will help me be a success as a student, as well as in the professional world later on in life.

The blog I searched was a Boston Bruins blog. This blog had articles about recent news within the organization such as new contract deals, trade deals, and any other miscellaneous news. This blog interests me very much, because I love hockey and I'm a huge bruins fan. My family and I have been watching hockey together for as long as I can remember, and my brothers and father play as well. This blog is indeed credible, its the official blog of the Boston Bruins and is updated regularly by the publicists.

My name is Ryan Thompson. I am a freshman at Nichols College. I am majoring in sports management. I got recruited to play hockey here and committed to come here in January of this year. I am from Palmdale, California. I am 21 years old. When I was 17 I moved to Montana at the beginning of my senior year of high school to play junior hockey for the Butte Roughriders. My second year playing there I was traded to the Missoula Maulers. Then my third year of juniors I was traded again, this time to the Billings Bulls. All three teams are based out of Montana and are in the same league. This past season our team made it to the national tournament in Rochester, Minnesota and placed third in the nation. The only work experience I have was I worked at Six Flags Magic Mountain in California. When I’m not playing hockey I like to play golf. Also I like to watch sports. I will watch pretty much any sport. I like pretty much every type of music but my favorite type would probably be country. In this course I hope to learn how to use computers better. I am not very good with computers or really any type of technology. This is the first time I have ever used a blog. I never had a myspace and still don’t have a twitter. I do have a facebook but I hardly ever go on it. I think learning how to use these thing along with other functions on a computer and internet will really help me throughout college. On the blog it has fan posts and fan shots where fans can post picture and videos. It also has the Atlanta Braves official roster, schedule, stats, and a link to buy tickets. It also contains articles about the Braves and interviews with players, managers, and management. This blog is the most popular blog about the Atlanta Braves.  

My name is Patrick Salkind, and I am a freshman from Springfield, Virginia.  I graduated high school two years ago, and have been playing hockey in Canada and Maine since then.  I am just now picking up classes again, and am a marketing major.   Back home, I work as a hockey coach at Kettler Capitals Iceplex as well as give private lessons to goalies.  I live in Budleigh, and wish I lived in a dorm with more going on. Also I have four classes with Cody, pictured below.

I am hoping to learn how to post videos on youtube, as well as learn how to make a webpage.  I don't know very much about computers, so this is an opportunity for me to improve on that. Also, I want to be able to voice my opinions with others in a way other than facebook or twitter.

The blog that I would enjoy being a part of is the Washington Capitals blog in the Washington Post.  This site gives credible information given by Washington Post reporters.  Being a Capitals fan, I would love to hear about what other fans might have to say about what is going on in the organization.

Hello my name is Colin Whitney from Longmeaow MA. I am currently a freshman at Nichols College with a major in marketing and a minor in accounting. Here at Nichols I am apart of the men's Golf team. Our team had our first tournament last weekend where we placed 5th out of 12 teams. In high school I was a member of the Varsity Golf, Basketball, and Lacrosse team. When I wasn't on the playing field or in school I was on the tennis court teaching. For the past three summers I have worked as a tennis instructor for the town of Longmeadow, teaching children the fundamentals of the game. Although I do not play tennis for a team I enjoy playing just for fun, which is also true with just about any sport. My favorite professional sports teams to watch are the Celtics, Patriots, and the Bruins. So as you can see my life revolves around sports.

This semester in Digital Applications I hope to further my skills in using different computer programs. I would like to learn about ways the computer can help me in the professional and personal workplace. Personally I am not very good with computers and using all the programs they have to offer. I hope that this course can assist me with that, so when a project or presentation is assigned to me in school or later on in life I will be able to get in done with the skills learned from this class.



The blog I posted below is about President Obama and how he is paying tribute to the men and women lost on September 11, 2001. The president has been preparing meals with his family in the DC Central kitchen for those in need. He is trying to send the message that remembering this tragedy can only bring us closer together as a nation. This is a credible blog because it is updated on a daily basis and the information is coming directly from the White House. This blog interests me because I think it is great that Obama is taking the time to help out the community and do volunteer work. This is a great example as to why our nation is as strong as it is today.
